The positive trend of Italian textile machinery orders continued to the third quarter of 2017. Alessandro Zucchi, president of the Italian Textile Machinery Association (ACIMIT), said: "The Italian market continues to grow, albeit at a slower pace. Further implementation of the industrial 4.0 strategy will promote the development of the whole Italian textile industry towards digitalization.
According to ACIMIT data, from July to September this year, the textile machinery order index increased by 6% compared with the same period in 2016, rising to 107.3 points (2010 base is 100). Among them, foreign market orders increased by 6%, the index rose to 119.4 points; domestic market orders rose by 8%, and the absolute value of the index reached 51.5 points. Although the growth rate slowed down compared with the previous quarter (April-June), the main export market demand of Italian textile machinery remained stable, while the domestic market showed a growth trend.
"The policies and measures related to industry 4.0 in the forthcoming Budget Law will help maintain this momentum and accelerate the digitization process of Italian textile industry." Alessandro Zucchi said.
